The Beatles hold Billboard's top five spots: no one has done it since
The Beatles simultaneously occupied the top five positions of the Billboard Hot 100 with "Can't Buy Me Love", "Twist and Shout", "She Loves You", "I Want to Hold Your Hand" and "Please Please Me". Sixty years on, the feat remains unmatched on equal terms. Beatlemania in a single image.

Berry Oakley is born, the wandering bass of the Allman Brothers
Berry Oakley was born in Chicago, founding bassist of the Allman Brothers Band and the melodic engine of "Whipping Post". He died in 1972 in a motorcycle crash, three blocks from where Duane Allman had died a year earlier, and at the same age: 24. Southern rock mythology has its most chilling chapter right there.
