Who handles your data

The controller of the site rebobinados.cl is Xpendia SpA, with registered address at Santa Magdalena 75, office 304, Providencia, Santiago, Chile, which develops and maintains the platform and its infrastructure.

For anything to do with privacy, including exercising your rights or asking us to delete your data, write to contacto@rebobinados.cl.

What we collect, and what for

You can read the whole site without giving us anything. We only ask for something when you decide to take part.

• Your account. If you sign in with Google —or with Facebook, once we enable it— that service gives us an identifier, your name, your email and your profile picture. We use them to recognise you when you comment and react.
• The newsletter. If you subscribe we keep your email, your name, your picture and the language you were browsing in, so we can send you what we publish. Every email carries an unsubscribe link.
• Comments and reactions. What you write is published along with your name and picture. Comments are moderated before they appear.
• Contact messages. If you write through the form we keep your name, your email and your message, so we can reply.
• Reads. We count how many times each article is read. It is an aggregate counter: it is not tied to who you are.
• Analytics. We use Google Analytics 4 (identifier G-6BY48E1XBJ) to know what gets read and from where.

Cookies and local storage

Google Analytics sets its own cookies to tell visits apart. The site also stores in your browser the language you chose and, if you signed in, the state of that session. The latter goes nowhere: it lives on your device and is erased when you sign out or clear your browser data.

Who we share them with

We do not sell your data and we do not hand it over for advertising. It is shared, out of technical necessity, with the services that keep the site running:

• Google, which provides sign-in (Firebase Authentication) and analytics.
• Meta, only if you choose to sign in with Facebook, and only with what you authorise at that moment.
• Amazon Web Services, which hosts the site, the database, the images and the outgoing mail.

Where they are stored

Data is stored on Amazon Web Services infrastructure. Because we use international providers, your data may be processed outside Chile.

How long we keep them

Your account and subscription data, for as long as you keep each of them. If you unsubscribe from the newsletter we stop writing to you and keep the minimum record needed not to do it again by mistake.

Published comments stay for as long as the article exists, unless you ask us to remove them.

Contact messages, for as long as the conversation lasts and a reasonable time afterwards.

Your rights

You can ask us to access your data, correct it, delete it, or object to us handling it. Write to contacto@rebobinados.cl from your account's email address and we will reply.

How to delete your data

Write to contacto@rebobinados.cl from the address you registered with, asking for deletion. We delete your account, your newsletter subscription, your comments and your reactions.

If you signed in with Facebook, you can also revoke the application's permission from your Facebook account settings, under “Apps and websites”. That cuts off access from then on; to erase what is already stored, write to us as well.

Changes to this policy

If anything changes we update it here and move the date at the top. If the change is important and we have your email, we will tell you.
