Barbra Streisand is born, the voice that refused to be changed

Barbra Streisand was born in Brooklyn; the industry asked her to fix her nose and change her surname, she refused both and conquered everything: she is among the few people with an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony. Her vocal technique and total artistic control paved the way for every diva after her.

Doug Clifford is born, Creedence's swampy pulse

Doug "Cosmo" Clifford was born, Creedence Clearwater Revival's drummer from school rehearsals to the top of the world. His unadorned groove carried "Proud Mary", "Fortunate Son" and that unreal hit streak between 1969 and 1971. Perfect simplicity is a form of virtuosity too. Decades later he and bassist Stu Cook took the songs back on the road.
