Farewell to MCA: Adam Yauch, the restless heart of the Beastie Boys, dies
On May 4, 2012, Adam Yauch — MCA of the Beastie Boys — died at 47 after battling cancer. From teenage punk to avant-garde hip-hop, Yauch was the trio's creative and ethical soul: video director, Tibet activist and architect of albums like 'Paul's Boutique'. His death abruptly closed one of the most original stories in the crossover of rock and rap.
