The Stones cut the first 'Satisfaction' at the Chess temple of blues
On May 10, 1965, the Rolling Stones entered Chess Studios in Chicago and recorded the first version of '(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction', still acoustic and without the fuzz that would make it immortal. Days later in Los Angeles, Keith Richards plugged in the pedal that defined the riff of the century. Every great classic has a draft, and this one was born in the very temple of the blues that inspired them.

Bono is born, the voice that tried to save the world from a stage
On May 10, 1960, Paul Hewson — forever known as Bono — was born in Dublin. Fronting U2, he turned Irish post-punk into the most ambitious stadium rock of its era, from 'The Joshua Tree' to 'Achtung Baby'. Loved and parodied for his activism, he is one of the few singers who treated the stage as a pulpit and, against all odds, often made it work.
