Neville Staple is born, the original energy of 2 Tone
Neville Staple was born in Jamaica, vocalist of The Specials and stage dynamo of the 2 Tone movement that united ska, punk and anti-racism in Thatcher's England. "Ghost Town" portrayed a country on fire and hit number one as the 1981 riots burned. Rarely has pop been so timely.
