Led Zeppelin crown the Bath Festival and dethrone the American heroes
On June 28, 1970, Led Zeppelin closed the Bath Festival before some 150,000 people, in the performance that, by the band's own account, definitively won them the British public. Shrewdly scheduled at sunset, they played for hours and pushed the bill's American stars into the background. It was the exact moment they stopped being a promise and became kings.

Honeyboy Edwards is born, the last witness of the Delta blues
On June 28, 1915, David 'Honeyboy' Edwards was born in Mississippi — Robert Johnson's rambling companion, present the night Johnson was poisoned in 1938. He played until past 95, having become the last living link to the founding generation of Delta blues. Hearing him was, literally, hearing the prehistory of rock in the first person.
